Climate and Clothing

Dubai is on the Persian Gulf Coast in the United Arab Emirates, meaning the city has a hot desert climate with high temperatures all year round. You’ll find that things are really hot in May, and there’s virtually no rain but it’s still a bit cooler than the summer’s peak.
The average high in Dubai is 37ºC in May, and temperatures stay warm in the evenings which only cool to 23ºC.
Dubai is a cosmopolitan city that is a melting pot of diverse cultures and religious faiths. All attires and cultural preferences are generally acceptable. Swimwear is permissible on beaches, pool and spa areas and for water-based entertainment, but is not considered appropriate in areas such as business districts and shopping malls. It is pertinent to note that in the more historical quarters of the city and places of religious worship, dressing conservatively is appreciated. In mosques, clothing that covers shoulders, arms and legs and head scarves for women, are required.

Wifi in Dubai

While free Wi-Fi is available at most hotels in Dubai and in many public areas and tourist attractions, you may still want to get a SIM card for your mobile phone to be able to enjoy uninterrupted internet access. International roaming charges can add up quickly so a local SIM is better for making and receiving calls from family and friends, and when calling to make restaurant reservations or schedule tours.
